June 29, 2019
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Westin at Virginia Beach Town Center
Amy Robach is an accomplished news correspondent and survivor of stage 2 invasive breast cancer. The current Good Morning America and 20/20 anchor’s life was forever changed after getting an on-air mammogram to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness Month which revealed malignant tumors. The troubling prognosis soon led to her formal cancer diagnosis, bilateral mastectomy as well as eight rounds of chemotherapy treatment. Since beating cancer, Amy has shared the details of her journey in The New York Times Bestseller, Better: How I Let Go of Control, Held On to Hope, and Found Joy in My Darkest Hour, encouraging survivors to remember that there is life after cancer—and to cherish every moment of it.
“Despite the fact that millions share this awful illness, cancer can feel very isolating. I’ve found that every time I share my story… a beautiful connection is made.”
Dr. William W. Li
Dr. William W. Li has worked toward re-conceptualizing health and wellness for more than three decades. With the co-founding of the Angiogenesis Foundation in 1994, Dr. Li pioneered the study and implementation of angiogenesis-based medicine, diet and lifestyles to fight disease and improve global health. Since then, his international campaign, Eat to Beat Cancer, has impacted more than 45 million people across 185 countries, and his TED talk on angiogenesis has been viewed more than 11 million times. Dr. Li continues to contribute to angiogenesis research, having authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific and clinical articles as well as The New York Times Bestseller, Eat to Beat Disease: The New Science of How Your Body Can Heal Itself, a guide to healing and prevention using foods that actively transform bodily health and wellbeing.
“Let go of the idea that health is the absence of disease and start eating to beat disease every day. Bonne santé, and bon appétit.”
